For Instructors
Teach the Durability Economy Curriculum
Exam copies, a complete instructor kit, and a course your students cannot get from a survey text
Most justice-adjacent courses hand students a critique without an instrument. This curriculum gives them both. Built on three books, it moves students from language and framing (Stop Calling It Reentry. It's Reinvention) through epistemology and governance (Lived Experience Is System Intelligence) to a measurement architecture they operate themselves (The Durability Economy).
The signature assignment is the Durability Index practicum: students score structured household vignettes across five scoring events spanning a simulated 24-month window, on a published five-domain, twenty-sub-measure instrument, and defend a weakest-domain memo. They are graded on the defensibility of their scoring, not on producing an improving line.
The course maps to CSWE 2022 EPAS competencies and ACJS quality standards, with crosswalk one-pagers ready for your curriculum committee. It runs as a 15-week upper-division or graduate course, or as modular inserts inside an existing corrections, social work practice, or workforce development course. Every component works in print, offline, which makes it deployable in Prison Education Programs without modification.
Request an exam copy
Exam copies are available to verified instructors at print cost plus shipping. We are an independent publisher: we do not mark up evaluation copies, and we do not gate them behind a sales call. Digital sample chapters, the sample syllabus, and both standards crosswalks are free on request.
Who qualifies. Current faculty and instructors of record (including adjuncts) at accredited two-year, four-year, and graduate institutions, and education directors of Prison Education Programs. Verification uses your institutional email and course context; we review requests personally and typically respond within two business days.
What you receive on request (free, digital):
- Sample syllabus with learning outcomes mapped to ACJS and CSWE language
- CSWE 2022 EPAS crosswalk one-pager
- ACJS quality standards crosswalk one-pager
- Sample chapters from all three books
What you receive as a verified instructor (print, at print cost plus shipping):

Program licensing. Departments standardizing across multiple sections, and PEPs deploying across facilities, can license the curriculum at the program level, including scoring-consistency materials for adjunct-taught sections. Ask when you write.
