What the book does
Stop Calling It Reentry: It's REINVENTION challenges the traditional reentry framing and argues for reinvention instead. The standard it sets is plain: whether a person and a household can build stability after prison.
The book treats lived experience as system intelligence. People who have been through prison and release know how the institutions around them actually work, and that knowledge belongs in the analysis, not only in the personal story.
Reentry still names the field and its institutions. The book uses reinvention to challenge that framing, not to erase the field term. That contrast gives students something real to argue with.
